I am a father and a husband. I am a technologist, a former consultant and a former lecturer. When I am not with my family, I am thinking about how to make a developers’ life easier, how to develop IT applications that are easy to understand, maintain and change, how to improve application development processes and methodologies, how to create architectures that make sense, how to manage technology, how to improve IT so that it can deliver value to the business, what are the emerging technology and business trends and how they affect each other… how to teach my son to write, how to defer home improvement projects without upsetting my wife, how to get the exact amount of toothpaste out of the tube, how to score 200,000 in Ms. Pacman!
As a techie, I have been architecting, designing and developing IT applications for about 8 years. I picked up two Java certifications on my way. I have done a lot of coding and debugging and written coding conventions and code review checklists. As a designer and architect I have worked on multi year, multi million dollar projects. I love open source tools and have installed and uninstalled linux about 15 times (without being able to use it much). As a consultant with CapGemini Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting, I have done projects in almost every industry. I have helped companies select tools and technologies, make build or buy decisions, implement Rational Unified Process (RUP), conduct brain storming sessions, review IT best practices and create IT vision. I have also spent nights at airports, lived on Subway sandwiches for days and lived in worst hotels.
As a former lecturer, I have taught engineering students and written a paper on Academic Excellence through TQM. I have used my passion for teaching to train clients, organize learning events, lead certification study groups and create learning maps.
In my free time (is there such a thing?), I try to learn macro and black & white photography. When I don't feel like doing anything, I make the world more loveable and enjoyable by drinking beer.
